Pružinka Bridge

Completion date: 2005

Pružinka Bridge is a part of the Ladce – Sverepec section of the D1 motorway. The bridge was built on from the geological point of view an exceptionally demanding site. The entire bridge consists of only one reinforced concrete unit from cast-in-situ prestressed concrete. The unit is delimited only by two expansion joints. It is the longest expansion unit in the Slovak Republic. The bridge was built applying the technology that uses special travelling scaffolding that allowed construction of 4 m of bridge deck a day.

Fričovce Bridge

Completion date: 2003

The D1 motorway contains nine bridges. The most dominant bridge is the one that spans over the valley of the Kopytovský brook and the III.class road leading to Lipovce, in immediate vicinity of the village of Fričovce. The bridge has a bearing structure from post-tensioned concrete. The height of the bridge above the terrain level is 28 m and its width arrangement corresponds with the width of the motorway. The bearing structure of the bridge consists of continuous single-cell box girders of a constant height. They were built by using the free cantilever concreting method.
